Parwaaz Hai Junoon is all set to land in China and will be released commercially in Chinese cinemas on November 13, 2020.
Hum TV, in a press release, said: “In a historical development for Pakistani films, Parwaaz Hai Junoon is all set to be seen on the big screens of China on November 13, 2020. Produced by Momina Duriad under the banner of Momina and Duraid Films and distributed by HUM Films, PHJ was released on Eid-ul-Azha 2018 and became the highest international box office grosser at the time. PHJ is one of the top five highest-grossing films of the country and its release in China is a milestone achieved which will open doors for all local films to the world’s largest cinema market.”
The press release further said that the contract to release PHJ in China was signed between producer Momina and Wang Ye of Fire International Media. The signing was part of the Pakistan China Trade and Investment Forum held in Beijing last year.
Starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir and Ahad Raza Mir, Parwaaz Hai Junoon was a tribute to the fighter pilots of the Pakistan Air Force. It was directed by Haseeb Hassan and written by Farhat Ishtiaq. The supporting cast included Shaz Khan, Kubra Khan, Shafaat Ali Khan, Marina Khan, Hina Bayat Khwaja and Asif Raza Mir.
The lead cast of the film took to social media to express their excitement over the film’s release.
“Grateful to Allah that I got to be a part of the first Pakistani Film to be released in China after 40 years,” said Hamza on Twitter. The actor also shared a new trailer for the film in his tweet.
Meanwhile, Parwaaz Hai Junoon was also the second Pakistani film that was released commercially in Saudia Arabia. HUM Films had organised a special premiere for the film, attended by the lead cast including Hamza and Hania.
