Aamir Khan took off to Turkey to resume work on his much-anticipated film, Laal Singh Chaddha. While his pictures with fans have taken over the internet, the actor met Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan to discuss his Paani Foundation. This one move has not gone well with the Indian netizens who has accused the actor of siding with enemies of the country. Below is what the angry Twitterati has to say.
If you are unaware, Turkey supported Pakistan on the Kashmir issue recently. This is during the scrapping of Article 370. In this case, Aamir Khan meeting Emine Erdogan on his trip for Laal Singh Chaddha shoot has sparked a debate. Many have accused the actor of leaving the right wing and centre, while a major chunk is calling it a disgraceful move.
Reacting to the news after Turkish first lady herself announced her meeting with Aamir Khan, a Twitter user wrote, “As Turkey refuse to budge from allegedly supporting Anti-India sentiments, it finds Bollywood star Aamir khan knocking on it’s door on 15th Aug praising Erdoğan for supporting several humanitarian projects concerning the education of women and children.”

As for Laal Singh Chaddha, the film is an official remake of Tom Hanks starrer Hollywood classic Forrest Gump. Starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Mona Singh, the film is set for a Christmas 2021 release.
