Vikrant Massey has proved his tremendous acting capabilities over the years. The actor began with TV and went onto brag some big movies in Bollywood. He was last seen opposite Deepika Padukone in Chhapaak. Amid the Sushant Singh Rajput case, a lot of actors have come forward to call out nepotism in the Industry. Vikrant too has shared his bitter experience.
In the most shocking incident, Massey was nominated for the best actor category by a popular award function. However, the actor was not invited to it. Yes, you heard that right. Although Vikrant refrained from naming the film or the award function, he clearly wasn’t bothered by the act.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Vikrant Massey opened up about his last tweet. It was in support of Vidyut Jammwal who wasn’t invited to the Disney+ Hotstar conference. It happened despite his film releasing along with Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2, and other 5 films too.

Vikrant Massey said, “I was saying that the other actors should have been invited as well. It has happened to me too. I remember, I was nominated for the Best Actor Jury category in a popular award function, but wasn’t invited to the event. So, should I be hurt by that? No. It doesn’t matter to me kyunki system hi aisa hai. I am only focused on work.”
The actor also spoke about his struggles during the initial shift from TV to Bollywood. He made his debut with Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh’s Lootera. But did you know he was rejected initially?
“When you start off, beggars can’t be choosers and back then, TV actors weren’t given much importance. I was told that TV actors ka kuch nahin hoga films mein. In fact, I auditioned for Lootera and was rejected but later, the actor who was signed on to play the friend in the film couldn’t do it and the makers called me 20 days before the shoot. So, that was sheer luck. My attempt paid off. A career in Bollywood is a mix of luck, opportunities you get, choices you make and your talent. Instead of saying, mauka nahin milta, one should turn every challenge into an opportunity. I am thankful to all the makers who saw potential in me and cast me in substantial roles. That led to other filmmakers offering better roles,” concluded Vikrant Massey.
